Comic Con Day 2 - Thursday

Jul 26, 2007 18:59

So I woke up and posted about yesterday before dawn, and then went back to sleep and took my time getting up.

edited to add:  Thursday was my day to see a little of San Diego, so I had walked from the hotel to check out the shopping, only to find that it wasn't really very interesting.  I was hoping for more off-beat interesting shops, like in a ( Read more... )

I missed out on the coolest Harry Potter give away (I think Warner Bros was giving away the cool looking shopping bag).

That blows. I have to say, I was severely disappointed in the givaways, rather lack thereof this time around for the final book. It's the only reason I went to the Midnight release, because I thought they would give away some neat stuff.

yeah, the Barnes & Nobel I went to have absolutely zero give aways...but a LOT of crap to sell! I was kinda surprised, but I was still happy to go to the midnight event just because it was kind of interesting to see the cross section of people who were there:
there were a lot of really tough looking teenagers, kids you would expect to be mugging you in an alley, but like the meanest looking one had a lightening scar drawn onto his forehead (LOL). Clearly these were kids who grew up up reading Harry Potter, and loving the series!

Glad to hear you're having a good time. Did anyone give Chris Chipinall a hard time? He generally gets crucified by a lot of people who write about Torchwood.

actually I didn't hear one critical peep...
some people were embarrassed to say how they had already seen the show (because it hasn't aired here yet), but then they all hassened to point out that they would be watching it AND buying the DVDs (so it isn't really stealing to get to see it early).
But Chris Chipinall was greated with affection and had lots of questions to answer about the nature of the omni-sexual and/or pan-sexuality and when there would be the actual orgy.

He did say that the word 'orgy' would be appearing in the first episode of series 2 of Torchwood! LOL

And just a few minutes ago I bought some awesome Doctor Who toys! Yay!

Scholastic was giving out the HP bags. WB was giving out the huge, Smallville orange/yellow bags.
