Eleven bloody weeks. That's a long time of silence, especially when it's a saw "aww, poor me" post. That's what I allowed to happen when my grandfather died. But silence doesn't do anything for anybody, so onward.

A great deal of things have happened; I'm technically out of college now, barring a minor mishaps with my grading and a single online summer course. I did the commencement ceremony, which I didn't want to do but ended up doing for the sake of my parents. Dustin, Chris and myself had a 'job well done' on our honors project, the computer game (which I hope will lead somewhere). My sister has given birth to her second son, and my brother's girlfriend (both of whom are returning to the States now that someone is going to purchase their sailboat) is pregnant as well, so I'm an uncle many times now. I have returned to my parent's home, am starting work with the hospital once again next week... but most importantly, I've been writing.

I've been lazy enough for the past... oh, 22 years. I wish to become an author, I need to authorize. I mean, write. And so I have been. 1000 words or a short story a night for the past week. And now I'm working on a full story, the first long project I am going to complete for myself. The hospital will fit the bills while I write, and I'll see if my talents are polished enough to get me anywhere. If not, well then, I'll continue writing to do so. If so, Huzzzah!

So, here's to hoping a young girl and her talking shadow goes somewhere. Here's to writing!
