Okay...for real ya'll

This is the real deal update...maybe...okay. So, I'm home for thanksgiving, and it's been pretty good, minus trying to get here. It all started on Tuesday afternoon after Chamber Singers. I had one hour to make what should be about a 40 minute rush hour drive (20 minutes on a normal basis) to Farragut for rehearsal. I left UT at 5:30, and arrived at FPC at 6:45...oops. There went my dinner. I was stuck on Middlebrook Pike between Lonas and Weisgarber for about 20 minutes. The irony of this all is that I could have taken Lonas, cut to Weisgarber, and then turned back onto Middlebrook and would have made almost the exact same trip in about 5 minutes. So I got to my rehearsal, which was eternally long. I wanted to get up and leave so bad, but I couldn't. Rehearsal thankfully ended at 8:30 instead of 9PM, so I got on the road about a 1/2 hour early. I made it into the Hixson area by 10PM and had planned on stopping a Zaxby's but they were closed, so I had to settle for a greasy burger from Central Park.

Wednesday was pre-shopping day. They were having red dot sales at Proffits so I bought a couple of sweaters. One sweater happens to be the same hot pink liz claiborne sweater that my mom bought about a month ago, but I really liked it so I convinced her it would be okay for us to have the same sweater. We also went to target and picked up a few christmas items like paper and bows. I finally got to eat at Zaxby's for lunch. I so wish Knoxville had a Zaxby's instead of a stupid Sawyers. Wednesday night mom and I ate beef vegetable soup for dinner. Yum.

And then there was Turkey Day. I got up and watched the parade on NBC and helped with some cooking. Holly and Mark showed up around Noon, and at 1PM I met dad at the WaHo for scattered hasbrowns and bacon. John finally showed up at about 5:30 and we ate about an hour later. Dinner was good. We had honey baked turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, beautiful salad, green beans, rolls, and apple pie for dessert. I was really proud of myself because I didn't gorge myself this year like I did last year.

Black Friday got off to a slow start. We made it to the mall at about 10:30 and started at the Proffits home store. I picked up some Christmas Cards and some cute snowflake ornaments for my midget tree. After Proffits home store we went to the actual proffits. I got some cheap birkenstocks for 19.99 to replace my old ones. After shoe shopping we went to JC Penney and looked at a few things before going to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. After the nosh, we went back over to Target and picked up some travel mugs for Mark's stocking. That evening we ate up at the Back Inn Cafe so we could watch the lighted boat parade. After dinner, we finally saw........................Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Overall, the movie was good, but it just didn't capture me the way the last one did. Parts of the movie were absolutely brilliant. The Yule Ball and the Graveyard scenes were just as I could have imagined them. Other parts lacked, however. I really felt that the World Cup was totally breezed over, and I thought the ending was a little too happy (yes, the ending was depressing but it still tried to uplift too much). I thought Daniel Radcliff, the actor who plays Harry Potter, was the best he's ever been. He showed real depth. The same goes for Emma Watson, the actress who plays Hermirone. Some of the comidic elements were better than before. The Weasly twins were hysterical...I'm glad they finally figured out that they could stand to use them more. Snape, while lacking in the dramatic area as previously seen, had a few funny moments. I was surprised at the lack of buildup to the last task in the Triwizard tournament, however, the contrast between the joy and sorrow of the event made for an interesting picture.

Anyway, I'll have to see the movie again. Now I must go, considering I'm eating lunch at the Northshore Grille in 1/2 an hour!
