It has been a strange little weekend, not the usual "we have Austin" weekend at all. I suppose mainly because Austin has been sick sick sick and spent most of yesterday asleep in his bedroom. Right now he's in position #2, semi-conscious on the couch. Poor thing :(. I have to say, it has been pleasant in a strange way though, he's so much nicer and calmer sick then when he's fully well.
Haven't done much this weekend but eat and minute amounts of cleaning. I swear I've spent the majority of my time just thinking about food. It's one of those weird pregnancy days where you feel like you could inhale your entire pantry and still want more. Go figure. Weight gain on this pregnancy is keeping up with the last one, not gaining over that 15-30 lbs limit that they prefer women to hit. However, I feel about 60 lbs heavier and look like i'm about to pop. I seem to be carrying this baby much higher than Lukas, so that this time I actually look pregnant instead of just fat. That makes an overweight person happy :). What does not make this mama happy is that the paternal grandmother will not stop purchasing pink clothes. I LOATHE the concept that girls should wear pink. It's not the color so much itself, though I'm not terribly found of the barbie pinks, it's more the fact that retail seems ready to groom any little girl into a false sense of fluffy puffy princesshood. And for the record, I refused to buy into the blue for boys bit too. Lil mister has more green, orange and brown clothes than anyone could imagine. Perhaps I've been tainted by growing up a tomboy in between two brothers, but that's not the only type of girl out there. I would like to see my daughter as a strong person, no matter what she chooses. I fear the bubbly brainless type. I probably shouldn't worry though, with a family like the one she is getting, it would be hard for to be anything but headstrong and centered anyway lol.
I received an email response for one of the jobs I put in for, this one being a temp to hire accounts payable job. However, I'm not sure whether I'm in good standing for it, since all they wanted from me was another copy of my resume and for me to update my barely two week old information with the temp agency. So I shall do that later today and see. Monday, I'm going to get spiffied up and go apply to a few of the hotels and information centers in the area that are looking for desk people. Jobs which I do have experience and perform well at. Those would be part-time at best, but would be a major help for the family. J landed some sort of night position with Taco Bell and has an interview later today at a local comic book/video/record store in town, so we're hoping that maybe three part time jobs could equalize the family income at least. Funny thing about the place he has an interview for, it's one of my favorite places to go and browse. I rarely buy, but I love the energy and smells from there, it's a place that is strongly reminiscent to me of college.
Nothing else to say, been doing a lot of file backups and cleanups on the computer and online games. I seem to have taken my "winter cleaning" from real life and moved it into a nesting phase of my virtual activities. Quite odd. I never went through this whole nesting phase in the first pregnancy, but I'll just attribute that to being dead tired from working 50 hours a week.
