I know it's hard now, I went to college completely dependent on the people I had known all my life (fam) and my high school friends who were always within just a few minutes drive...but I promise you, nearly everyone is feeling the same way as you.
I think that's one of the reasons it's so easy to bond with everyone in your dorm...because everyone is trying to break away from parents, etc and at the same time lonely not to have them there. The first week is definitely the hardest, new living situations, new people, etc but once classes start up you barely remember your life before college. In a way, it's sad, but in another way its healthy because it shows you are strong enough to move on and adapt to change.
I was scared to death the first week of being in the dorms, and by mid October there were four of us girls who wanted to move out together because we got along so well...and I'm sure you will have a similar experience.
I know I'm rambling a ton, but I guess what I'm trying to say is even though it is hard now, THINGS GET AMAZINGLY BETTER. And once Thanksgiving rolls around, you'll be in Bend wanting to get back to Corvallis friends.
Are you going to the game with Kolby/etc on Saturday? If you haven't got tickets yet, you should! It should be super good and night games are so fun....BUT COLD!!!
P.S. Oh yeah, and write letters home when you are really lonely!!! Emailing family is good and all, but my dad gave me the best advice right before I left, "We can slip ten dollars into a card, but we can't send that through email." So basically parents can't deny a handwritten note from their lonely kids, and you're bound to get something comforting in return. :)
haha yea no kiddding- it will be freeeeezing! i did get a ticktet- i dont know if i'm going with kolby or if he even got a ticket or not so we'll see... but i'm very excited i havn'et been to one yet. so it should be fun :D
