Today cockfighting becomes illegal in the state of Louisiana. It is the last state to make the sport illegal.
We have roosters in our neighborhood and while I can tell that they are alive and well, I'm fearful that perhaps cockfighters will want to go out with a bang and that soon our rooster friends will be here no longer. They add a bit of charm to the place.
