Art is an experience, not the formulation of a problem. - Lindsay Anderson

So I made All-State and so did Mags!!!  Opening Night went great last night, but the audience was tiny.  Come on people, support the performing arts!  Oh who am I kidding, it's Georgia.  Anyways you should really come see Earnest, the cast is wonderful, and it's tonight and Saturday night at 7!  Please, please, show some respect for the arts!!

And now, I'm having one of those emotional experiences where I don't know what my life would be like without music and theatre.  So, here is an original:

What is musical theatre?

It is a place where, for just a few hours, you can forget everything going on in your life, leave your bad mood outside the door, and be transported into another world.  People from all different backgrounds, with contrasting personalities, values, and social spheres, come together in the same room - laughing and crying - for a brief space of time.  Timeless.  It teaches you things about yourself that you never knew or even thought about.  The music adds life and feeling to emotions that cannot be expressed in pure speech.  The performance seems to beg you to find deeper meanings in your own life.  Life-changing.  You can't imagine your world without it.  You can't imagine ANY world without it.
