Wow! We just got back from camping. It was so so fun. I love being up north. It just feels different than when I'm at home. Could be b/c I'm on vacation, but I think it might be something more than that. I like the fact that stuff is untouched up there. There's no light pollution from cities, so you can see a billion stars. And wild animals! We saw fox and deer. I think the loon's call is my favorite sound ever. I heard a wolf howl a few times, too.
We camped on Fall Lake, which is on the edge of the Boundary Waters. We rented canoes on Monday and canoed over to a few islands. Canoing is really fun, and I want to do more of it. Unfortunately it will probably have to wait until next summer. oh well. on our way back to the camp ground, the wind had really picked up and it was really hard paddling, because we had to try and keep our nose to the waves, otherwise they would have flooded us. But we made it back.
We had good weather over all, and we made had a campfire both nights. I love campfires! And we made s'mores! MmmMmmMmmMmm!!!
I needed a book to read, cuz I get really bored riding in cars sometimes. So I raided our bookshelves and found a book by Tom Clancy, Rainbow Six. Ok, so I have never read any of his books, nor really any books like this, novels about war and the armed forces and stuff. but this book is AMAZING. I can't put it down. It's some 800-900 pages long, and i'm only at about 425, but it is SO SO good!! I'm sure his other books are phenomenal as well; a few have been made into movies, some that i've seen and liked. All in all, I'd highly recommend the book.
Switching it up, Valleyfair was superfun on Saturday. It was nice and hot. There were lots of people there, but it's to be expected. Rode some rides, Wild Thing and Steel Venom were the some of the highlights, played in the water park, and hung out with some very fun people from the Fargo area.
That's about it for now. After 2+ days of camping, I need a shower in the worst way.
Adios!
