A Not So Quick and Dirty Harpy Report for 18 Apr 09

Apr 30, 2009 14:29

Ok, so there's basically one happening to report. And yeah, I took notes:

Prince Doyle called open court to begin, with Isaac Delacroix at his side, and announced that Christoff, the Daeva Priscus, was now to be banned from the city because he was trying to instigate fighting between Covenants (Carthian and Invictus)through the destruction of property, etc, etc...

Understandably, Christoff stood up and got pissed off, followed by Ms. Lilian O'Brien of Clan Daeva, Covenant Ordo Dracul and now former Seneschal, who came to his defense. (On a fashion side note, I'd like to give Ms. O'Brien props for the fantastic stockings and garters she was wearing.)

Doyle announced that his new Seneschal would be Mr. Delacroix, who stood by his side, looking dapper as usual. A lot of yelling and accusations ensued.

Jonathan, charming as always, tried to claw Lilian (for what reason exactly I am unsure at this point --he *may* have had a good reason), and then Cecil got involved in the fray. I believe he attacked Jonathan, but again, I don't really know why. Protecting Lily, perhaps? Or perhaps he was just trying to relieve stress.

Let's just sum up the next part by saying a lot of people decided to try and do a lot of things, almost all of them ineffective, but colorful.

Finally, Shay (Price Doyle's bodyguard) asked, "What's going on?!" and Prince Doyle replied, "Christoff has decided to take Praxis."

There was a call for an accounting of who supported Christoff for this abrupt bid at Praxis.

A Gangrel whose name I don't know threw a knife at Ray, and displaying incredible althetic agility, Isaac caught it. I don't suppose it really matters in the long run, but it did look pretty cool. Ray told Gangrel Guy to run, and he left.

Brother Abraham then decided that this was the right time to breathe fire like a dragon, nearly sending us all running. I know where to go now if I ever need to light a cigarette and can't find my lighter.

The Bishop demanded, "No one shall enact violence in the house of God," perhaps a little late. Of course, most people were too reved up to actually listen to her.

Shay called, "Enough violence! I call for an accounting!"

Helpful as ever, Quincey suggested that Prince Doyle "Calm down." Well thought out, that. And astute. Perhaps I'll give him a gold star when I see him next. (Or IF I see him next. He's apparently having some sort of experiment done on him to cure him of Malkavia. But will that cure him of being himself? I think not.)

Mr. Gray, who also appeared to not be drunk at this gather, either (two open court appearances of sobriety!), raced out of the room after being hissed at by someone. *shrug* It's peripheral, I suppose.

"So, are you gonna do this the proper way," asked Christoff.

"The People call for an accounting," pronounced Prince Doyle.

I heard more than one murmur of "No, they don't," from the People -- who, in fact, mostly hadn't. They were all just watching the scene being played out before us.

Lily opined that Doyle was not beyond the capacity for violence as opposed to doing things in a civilized fashion.

Shay kept demanding an accounting.

We kept watching.

The Bishop seemed to be getting more and more annoyed that this was happening in her church.

In the end, the central players argued loudly with each other, until Ms. O'Brien and Christoff were told they had twenty-four hours to leave the city. They left the area. As people gathered around again, Prince Doyle told the Bishop that he was appointing Alexander Wesson as the new Keeper of Elysium. She was quite gracious about it, considering everything.

Not much happened to top that for the rest of the night.

I'm pleased to report that Daiyu got her second status back. Good for you, Daiyu.

So, now what? Two Carthians are now in positions of power -- gasp -- what could this mean for the city? Anarchy? Total lawless chaos? I don't think so. But of course, I wouldn't, now would I, being somewhat of a Carthian myself.

And what of Prince Doyle? Has he just made a major enemy, or solved a problem for himself? What are the chances that's gonna come back to bite him later on down the road?

And finally, is Christoff guilty? Did HE plan the burning of the Carthian Estate? Did he manipulate the pea-brained conspirators into doing this? And if he is so good, then why wasn't he good enough to not get caught now?
