Short thoughts on the inauguration:

GOD IT WAS SO COLD.

Disorganized, but secure.

The weirdest Obama merchandise I was offered: Barackulars - Obama binoculars.

Watching Bush while Obama spoke makes me think that more than anything, the Presidency is a job in which you burn out, not fade away.  I hope Barack comes out of it ok, because he is so young and listening to him speak, he has so much fire.  We need that fire in this country, from any party, because Bush had fire too when he started.  But he's burned out.  We need to renew that fire.  And I hope Barack doesn't lose it over the next 4 years.  I hope he sets Washington on fire (metaphorically).  I hope he spreads it.

Michelle waved at me!  And what I can only imagine was Biden's Secret Service patrol took my picture during the parade.  It was weird.  I looked like a Yeti because, gosh it was so cold.

Pictures, etc to come.  Now, warm and tea and sleep.  YAY NEW PRESIDENT!!
<--- never been this excited about political change.

Will discuss tomorrow my feeling about small-r republicanism.
