I volunteered to work for the Presidential Inauguration - unfortunately, so did the rest of DC metro area as well as like half the nation. One of the questions on the application seriously was - "Do you own formal attire?"
Anyway, they didn't pick me, which is kind of sad but I'll live. I'm on the waiting list though in case someone backs down or more positions open up. Apparently my skill set of audiovisual talents/kindergarten teacher/owner of formal attire is not in high demand. Such a shame! :)
"Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration. We appreciate your support, and we wish we could accommodate all who want to participate as volunteers. Unfortunately, due to capacity constraints, we're unable to place you at this time as our trainings are now full. In the event that more volunteer positions become available, we will be sure to reach out to you again."
In the meantime, now the Democratic party has my email address and keeps sending me YAY DEMOCRATS mail. I file that right to my YAY BUSH mail from when I was registered Republican.
