Thanks to Mama, who bought this top for me today *gleefulness*. I can't believe I will be wearing that. Its just more than I could have hoped for.
My pre-op appointment with my surgeon was today. He wants to keep me in the hospital overnight because of my anemia, but he gave me an example of what to expect post-surgery. He said my tummy muscles (under excess skin) are very tight, so the stomach and back will be totally flat. He isn't going to tighten the muscles in my abdomen because it is "unnecessary" and it would make having children in the future very difficult. I want a family pretty badly, so that is definitely something to avoid :) The surgery is July 28, and I am very excited, but also nervous about it. I am prepared for a few weeks of pain, ickiness, and leaning on people for assistance. But in the end, after these years of hard work, I know the final result will be worth it. I wish mom would stop panicking about it though :-/
Feels good to be back on LJ. Keeping up with friends via Facebook is one thing, but lots of people on here aren't on FB, and I've felt like I was disconnected from them. I'd forgotten how running through my Friends List and reading up on everyone's day-to-day can be therapeutic, funny, and make me smile. Glad to be back!
So many changes happening since I moved back to California, everything has kind of been a whirlwind. I won't lie and say it has all been a breeze, but it has gotten easier and I don't find myself 'borrowing sadness' anymore. Things that happened all happened for the best, and although I don't have any clue what the future holds for me, I am optimistic. I got the rejection email from the University of Phoenix last week. I'm not surprised - there were people there FAR more qualified than myself. I was a little bummed, but I have a job interview with the Jackie Robinson Youth Center next week. They have already run my background check and seem to be really excited. I hope I get it!!! Prayers and nice thoughts would be totally appreciated!
ashwoman, I just got your questions in my Gmail. I will answer them ASAP! :-D
Now to finish "The Crazies" with my Ma.
