(Ely's) Fandom News
Wow! How long as it been since I've written what I've been up to in fandom? Considering the fact that I've actually never posted a post titled "Fandom News", it's probably been a while...
You might have noticed that I've become a mod over at crack_broom since I was asked to help out while the lovely this_bloody_cat went on a bit of a hiatus. I'm really happy to help out starduchess with the community. It's my first experience as a mod and it couldn't go more smoothly than it is going so far. Well, my co-mods are pretty awesome, so it's no wonder there.
On that note I'm going to fly two brooms in the upcoming months! I'm going to rec some Ginny/Harry in April (honestly, sometimes I feel like Ginny/Harry is almost as rare as a rarepair on Livejournal. It hasn't been recced since 2014!) and some Lily Luna/James Sirius in May (this has never been recced at all, even though some of the stories/art that I wanted to rec had already been recced. Oh well!).
And always talking about crack_broom ... Feel free to come on board and claim a broom if you feel so inclined. We're always happy to have more people pointing us in the direction of more awesome stories!
On a completely different note, I haven't written something new in AGES. I am currently posting a 35-chapter-long story on AO3 called
Ask Lavender. It's a Hugo/Lily (my OTP, in case you still didn't know). It's cheesy, it's filled with smut and flirting, and it's basically as bad as a YA romance novel. It's unbetaed because I don't have the heart to ask anybody to go through it with a critical eye; I wrote it last summer and I'm editing it myself. And despite all this I discovered that there is a tiny Lugo fan club on AO3! They're amazing and they leave the best comments EVAAAAHHHH! I post a chapter three times a week and they are always reading and always commenting and I have to admit that fandom has never been a more pleasant experience than this for me. They warm my heart.
Now, the last fandom thing that I should mention is the (hopefully) upcoming story that I wrote for alisanne for fandomaid. It is called Samsara and I will have it online before May 31. I promise you, Ali. My beta-reader is busy with RL atm, but we're on the last chapter and I've had some chapters checked by up to three betas and an alpha-reader (I'm really nervous). I hope it's good. As soon as we're done with the last chapter, I'll post it and you can virtually slap me if you don't like it. I'll give you permission.
Last, last thing, I promise, I'm moving to London on May 31, so I'm definitely going on a more or less long hiatus from that day until I've settled down in the new city. Well, ta-ta for now, flist! I'll keep you updated about stuff! Love you all! x
