So, as I already mentioned, I went to watch Fantastic Beasts on its premiere. I've never been a fan of the movies (books are my thing!) but my boyfriend's brother gathered a big crowd and I figured I could tag along.
I fell in love from the first minute! The opening scenes were awesome, took you straight into the magic world. I adore the Niffler!!!!! So much fun to watch (though it would probably be a pain to own, haha!). Overall, I found it better than the HP movies, though I'm told I haven't watched the best ones (I've only watched up to the 4th one). Totally with you on Queenie/Jacob! Tina/Newt wasn't bad either, though Tina wasn't my favourite character. I think she wanted to be Tonks, but couldn't. :P And I was waiting all the while to see more on Grindelwald. Like, what has he done so far and he's so ~evil~ and in hiding? All I remember is some generic newspaper frontpages. And I did get confused at some point with him and the boy. But it was good to have some mystery! And I didn't realize at all it was Johnny Depp when he transformed. xD I saw the name in the credits and I was like "what! where?!?" Will be looking forward to the next movies!
The Niffler was amaziiiiing! I'm so glad you agree with that! I loved all his scenes! Especially the ones with Newt.
Tina isn't my favourite character either. They said that not the whole gang is coming back in future films, but I reckon Tina will always be back, since she is Newt's future wife.. Hope I didn't spoil anything, J.K.Rowling spoiled it for us ageeeees ago.
Queenie is a wonderful character. I love her so much, and she should definitely be with Jacob forever and ever...
I'm looking forward to more screen time for Grindelwald, too. Hopefully, he's going to have a bigger recurring part in the upcoming films. And I almost had a heart attack when I saw it was him, I don't know why but I had convinced myself that Johnny Depp was going to appear only from film two onward.
Awww, thank you! My flatmates - who are not HP fans - love it too! :D
So lovely to read your review on the film! I'm looking forward to watching the future films too! Love, Ely xx
