I dunno what it is about this time of year. I mean, come on, Dave, its blowing snow outside right now!
But whatever it is about the blowing snow and the frigid temps, it is always right around my birthday that I start to lust after a new bike.
The last new bike I bought was in February. Then it was so shiny and new looking that I didn't ride it until April. Ridiculous? Well, I can't say that it's brilliant, that's for sure. So, what is about this time of year that has me lusting for new bikes? I dunno.
Anyway, I have three bikes that I would love to own right now and no chance that I'll be picking up any of them any time soon...
The first is the only practical bike on the list:
It's an
Xtracycle long wheelbase cargo bike...
Ok, that's it for practicality, let's get to the fun stuff...
I would love to get Julie and I a
pair of these for this summer...
For Julie:
For me:
And finally the totally useless, but oh-so-cool, bamboo mountain bike from
Calfee Design:
That is damn cool, but so totally unnecessary. If I were going to get another mountain bike, I think I'd have to go full-suspension this time - since I still have a less than 2 year old hardtail already. I'd probably look back at the
Rocky Mountains again... I did love those when I rode them before:
Ok, that's enough of that. I need to find some money before I can think about buying bikes again. Besides, I think Julie and I are likely to get kayaks before I start buying more bikes again.
:)
