Prompt: Hermione's first day back to work after Rose's birth
Word Count: 136
Three minutes and fifty two seconds before nine.
She could still make it on time, if she could just get her blouse tucked into her skirt properly. She’d need two hands for that, and both were still occupied with getting her hair up into a somewhat sensible bun.
This was complicated by the fact that she was trying to wriggle her feet into her shoes.
Two minutes and forty nine seconds.
She feels a kiss on the back of her neck and a pair of strong hands on her waist.
“You’re going to be late love.”
“I can’t be late Ron, it’s my first day back.”
She felt him smile as he let down her hair.
“You don’t have a choice.”
As her skirt fell to the floor, she mentally cursed her husband.
He was right.
And, because she loves Peter and Susan, a bonus:

“Am I dreaming?” she asked?
“Yes,” he answered sadly. “But that doesn’t mean it isn’t real.”
“How do I go on without you? I’m so afraid to go on alone,”
He smiled. “Remember what Aslan taught you. Only those who know fear can be brave. Let him guide you.”
The tears she had held back began to flow. “I don’t know if I can believe in him anymore.”
He moved towards her and took her in his arms. “He still believes in you. Don’t give up. You’ll always find what you truly seek.”
At that moment, she felt a warm, sweet smelling wind blow over her, and a deep, wild voice whisper in her ear.
“Courage, dearheart,” it said.
Susan looked to her brother. “Do you have to go?”
He smiled. “For now. But when you wake, we’ll be waiting for you. I’ll see you soon.”
