Why We Banned Legos While they phrase it as the children coming up with all of it themselves and finding communism (collectivity) better than capitalism, I suspect that the teachers' own biases framed it just as much. Personally, I'd be a little upset with this sort of learning as it's only the negative side of capitalism and the positive side of communism. Perhaps one could ask the older kids if they are having as much fun; perhaps one could ask the more imaginative kids if they feel oppressed by the collectivist rules on what they can do. Neither system is perfect, but I think this one sets up these kids for being very unhappy little people later in life when they realize that what they decided was "unjust" is the way of things.
