Tonight I started working on one of the holiday gifts I had planned on giving. I really should've started the holiday work a while ago, given my plans, but well... Having the yarn in boxes until sorta stymied that.
I also ordered some stuff for another project from
Lion Brand. (The local store that I went to didn't have the right colors.) They had said that they were several days behind in processing and then it would take a few days for shipping, so I figured that I could at least get to work on the holiday stuff in the meantime. I just checked my order and it shipped today... and due to get here on Wednesday. Yikes! I guess I'll have my new goodies waiting for when I need a break from this pressie.
In a way, that works out pretty well. The pressie (a lap blanket) is being done via crochet. However, the new project - a gift of a Harry Potter scarf for a friend's son - is to be done via knit. (For the Harry Potter fans, it'll be the colors of Gryffindor. Per the parent, this is the house most wanted, though I offered that there was also Hufflepuff, Slytherine, and Ravenclaw available in my patterns.) So when my wrist starts to cramp up from crochet, I can switch to knit... at least until my finger tips get sore from the points. Hee.
These will definitely be a nice break from the insanity at work. Gah. I don't like having so much to do that I have no idea what to work on next and having them all be screaming-me-mes. However, it is still far, far better than being completely bored out of my mind. Wheeee.
