Perhaps you saw the goings-on in the big 437

If there were news crews, I would have ninja-ran by wearing my Akatsuki snuggie...

****************

I woke up Saturday morning to the sound of a helicopter roaring just overhead. Trying to ignore it, I rolled back over. The roaring didn't stop. I look out and see another helicopter flying over. Then another. And another... By this point, I'm up, and head out to the front porch. The roaring continues. I'm used to army aircraft doing maneuvers fairly often (part of living near the airport), but these were AirEvac and Lifestar or whatever. I look down and see one neighbor walking down the yard yelling at someone. Not uncommon. But I call mom and ask what's going on. She says my uncle Steve just called her and said it was on our road and she's about to go and check it out. I go down to my bathroom and look out the window and see all sort of flashing lights and emergency vehicles, so I tell mom to just walk. She does, and I open the window, hoping to catch some info, and watching the helicopters circle overhead trying desperately to find a place to land. (I live in the woods.)

I later find out that three people were shot. A crazy stepbrother shoots his sister, then her husband, who shoots him back. There are also at least two other adults in the house, plus one infant. Huh. A lot of the gunshots I've heard recently I just attributed to the redneck compound further down being themselves, but it turns out the crazy brother like to go out and shoot his gun a lot. Remember the fallout that hit my window that night? Might not have been a hunter, after all. So, that was certainly an interesting way to wake up on a Saturday morning. We always knew these people were crazy, but man.... Just a couple of houses down from me.

Otherwise, it was a very uneventful weekend. Boring, in fact. One of those where you just feel lonely. But I did nearly finish inking "Chibi Explosion 3." I want to have the lines posted by tonight...lol.

My big old heater died last night. So I'm back to being cold. At least it was warm for one weekend...

Girls, I'm dying for a sleepover or something. And a shopping trip.

They took down the railroad lights at the end of Slack Road. *sob* I feel like a piece of my childhood is gone... :B

Much love everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful week.
