Bernie and I are going to do a Broadway musical based on the Anne Rice novel. I have always loved Anne's children of the night and I am elated to be able to bring her characters to the stage. I am also happy to be working with Bernie again. I always miss him if I am away from him too long.
Other than my musical forays, I'm on tour in Europe and David is in Hollywood. The road is a lonely place at times. At least it isn't like the old days where I spent days on the road to get to the next gig. Now I spend all that time in a nice climate controlled hotel room, making phone calls or writing letters. But I have to admit that I miss sitting the bus and looking across the aisle to see the Brown Dirt Cowboy scribbling the words to our next song furiously on to a crumpled napkin. Back then it wasn't unusual to have bands put out two albums a year, so he and I were always writing, no matter where we were.
I can't wait to do that again.
Peace,
Elton
