Hee, yes indeed. ^_^ I'm catching up on as much of the fandom as I can. ;P Have downloaded the manga and drama CDs...and reading the manga should help me improve my Japanese, which has become extremely rusty...*groan*
As for the novels...DAMN, I wish someone would translate them into English. ^^;
Gotta warn you, though...I am, as of yet, a AbelxCaterina fan. *gasps* ;P I noticed from your TB entries you seem to disapprove of this pairing. ^_~
LOL. I'm okay with the couple as long is one sided (blame saintedsin who made me enjoy some games). I don't think Abel deserves Caterina though. Specially after what he did to her in Canon. ;)
There are many Caterina/Abel fans, so don't worry.

*LMAO* That may well be the case, yeah. ;P Caterina owns over Abel anyday. I don't like the relationship as a romance so much...I just think the sex would be hot. ^_~

Funny how there's no fic...*whimper* Or have you seen any? ;P
Speaking of which, any TB fanart sites I should be looking into in particular? I've had a look through a few and not found anything spectacular, and I know how good you are at ferreting out the best of the best...^_~

Well, Caterina is in love with Abel in the novel. Deeply. But he isn't, he's starting to like Esther because she has Lilith's hair *dyes Esther's hair BLACK GAH* And well, I used to like their relationship too (as no romance) but after reading what he did to her in Canon, I think she's better off without him in sight.
There's no much fanfiction in general. I'm working on some but will not have CaterinaxAbel (sorry, except Caterina's lingering feelings for him). There is a site with Caterina/Abel fic in Japanese though. :P
There's a nifty TB forums around, just google "Trinity Blood"+"forums" you'll find it easily.

I know, I've read the canon 'translations' (the summaries and information posted at the forums and TB Craze, that is) and most of the threads at the TB forum...fascinating stuff.
Although, I must say, I don't recall what he did to her that was so utterly horrible...unless it was that he defected and went to rescue Esther from the assassination attempt? Frankly I didn't think that sounded horrible...the fact that Caterina was willing to offer Esther up as bait in order to destroy the RCO seems far more awful to me. ^^;;; Of course, I could be misunderstanding the situation...the summaries are rather cursory.
Do you not like Esther? ;P Or just the connection to Lilith?

He quit the Ax when Caterina (who was deadly sick) needed him the most. I think Caterina's plan to offer Esther as bait was brilliant. What is one life if she could save more? Sorry, I like Esther, but if she would have died that day, the RK would have been revealed and well... there wouldn't be a frickin' war that would be the end for many characters

I'm totally lost on that point. ^^;;; Obviously I need "Canon for Dummies". ;P

Caterina didn't know her brother had sent people to murder Esther, she had found out the RKO were there to do it (Vatican acted faster). Nor did Abel&Ion actually until they got there.
Caterina's plans were good, if the terrorists attacked, they would be unmasked. Abel wanted to stop that to happen not knowing of Francesco's men

Ah, I see...I didn't realize she didn't know about the Vatican assassins. As I said, unclear summaries. Once again, I lament the lack of a full English translation. *sobs* Or at least I lament the fact that I can't read Chinese...*LOL*
Esther when she became Queen, she's a weaker character, damnsel in distress type which only serves for Abel to rescue (he does again eventually).Really? I'm sad to hear that about Esther...I had hoped that in her role as Queen she would become stronger, but I suppose that was too much to hope for with a character who already had strong Mary Sue leanings

So did I. I mean, she gets in negotiations that eventually cause more problems and are useless and just an excuse for Abel to rescue her. Or someone die on her behalf.
Got a question, if you know the answer...for several of the stories in the Canon it appears that Caterina was basically on the verge of death with her disease...how did she become physically able enough again to perform the whole RK-infiltration in the later stories? I was curious about this...I had thought that collagen disease was degenerative, without much chance of recession...is that not the case? By the events before the war, she has just found out about the dicease. I have no clue regarding how she did to perform so well, maybe the exile in Milan provided her peace to regain strength

Ugh, how irritating. :/

Hm, good point.
I suppose there's also the possibility that she used some sort of stimulant to keep herself active enough for her last shot at taking down the RK...
In fanon (the Isaak/Caterina fans version), Isaak did something to help her strengthen up (since he's the one who 'heals' Cain). He did admire her.
...An interesting possibility, to be sure. O_o *LOL*
Because "From the Empire" (RAM I) happened previous to "Overcount" (RAM III) in the novel. Isaak also appears on FtE novel verse, he greets/meets Caterina and Tres fights him briefly.Any idea what does happen immediately following the Abel betrayal/lying-as-though-dead stuff in RAM III,

LOL, this pairing is VERY popular. In fact, most fics in Portuguese I have read are about it. Fandom lured me to it and I plan writing about it. You see, novel wise, Isaak was clear he wanted Caterina to join the RK honestly (not her uncle and really, we all knew in the Anime he wouldn't have listened to Alfonso anyway).
Plus, Isaak is the only character whose goals remains 'mysterious' (IMO, he's using Cain as a lab rat), loves intelligent people (hence why he used to be William's buddy), is romantic/poetic at times and, unlike Dietrich, values feelings (like you can see in their banter on Radiohead).
So is widely agreed that the one who made Caterina enter in the RKO was Isaak. Cain? Why would he? He's busy in other issues. Dietrich? Didn't trust her. Helga? Didn't know her. Isaak is the only realistic option. There's not enough information about the soddy, RK issue yet. ;)

I figured that was the case from the hinting in that scene in the anime, but it's good to have it confirmed that that was the case in the novels.

Definitely mysterious...I recall reading that it had been implied that he was actually Paracelcus...?
