Can Sims get sick?

I played the Sims a bit last night, set up a new family consisting of Amon and Robin from Witch Hunter Robin. ^^ And I swear, just when I start to think I've discovered all the secrets of the Sims, something surprises me. This time it's Amon, who seems to have developed a cold. He coughs and hacks and sneezes, and consequently his comfort level is constantly low. At least, at first I thought it was a cold...but then I got to thinking, is he actually allergic to their pet guinea pig? I'll have to test that theory tonight (or you could tell me if you're familiar with this phenomenon), but I find it amusing that things about the game can still startle me.

I also confess to being rather amused at seeing Amon struggle with a case of the sniffles, but that's just because I'm mean...

I've been snapping plenty of pictures of the various families...hopefully I can post some more funny stuff soon. ;P
