Is there anybody home?

I woke up to a non-functioning Internet connection. The Internet light on the modem was red, a phenomenon I had never seen before. I looked it up, and the results I received were split on what the cause might be: a problem with the modem, or a problem on the service provider's end. Since I didn't change a thing about the modem, I figured that it had to be the latter, and decided to wait it out till the next day before calling Maxis. However, I caved in at Dad's persistence. I was prepared to hear a non-answer (as I am used to) until the person on the other line told me that the service was having some problems, and while their technicians were working on it, they were unable to promise me when it would be fixed.

Not long after, the Internet connection came back. Still, I'm more pleased about the fact that I was informed about what was wrong than I am about being able to use the Internet. Customer service: doin' it right.

I received this from a daily yesterday. I don't know what to do with it. I'm considering selling it, but I have this sudden desire to trade for a UC, and that's one of the few ways to do so now.

I watched American Horror Story over the weekend. I started because I'm interested in the second season -- specifically, where it would take place. (Both seasons aren't connected, but I needed something to fill my time, too.) The good news is, it's not scary: rather, it's creepy and relies on the occasional gore. Other than that, it's an okay series. It's so slow-moving, though. I'm not too sure either about the overt theme of birth, and how it's built on such a gendered premise and is chock-full of likeminded tropes. I do like that it is open to a ton of interpretation, however.

The Dark Knight Rises opens this week! I'm so excited! Till then, I'm not reading a single thing about the film. Usually, I don't care about spoilers, but since this is the last one and so much of it has been shrouded in secrecy, I'd like to keep it that way.
