There are no Harry Potter spoilers in this post

So, I was sitting outside reading the "the book whose contents shall not be mentioned," when Floyd starts having a cow. I mean running back and forth, barking, and trying to get me to follow him. I was sitting on the patio, next to the privacy fence, so I couldn't see what had him all in a dither.

Finally, I finished a chapter and got up to see what was making Floyd crazy, and there was Ollie IN THE NEIGHBOR'S BACKYARD. Floyd was having a cow because Ollie got to go and play with Jake and Shelby (Jake is a golden retriever, Shelby is a beagle) and he couldn't, because the hole in the fence was much too small for Floyd.

Jake and Ollie have been working on that hole for weeks. I would often catch Jake with his paws stuck under the fence to the elbow to reach out to Ollie. Jake apparently thinks Ollie is the canine equivalent of Fonzi -- coolest dog on the planet. Jake's major ambition for as long as he's lived next door (since he was 8 weeks old) has been to play with Ollie.

They were having a fine time, though Ollie did come back through the hole when I called him. At that point, I went and got a large rock out of the back of the yard (where I throw large rocks when I find them), and blocked the hole in the fence.
