i wish i spoke greek...

Aug 29, 2004 22:26

Yeah, we're watching the Closing Ceremony for the Olympics....and watching them sing makes me want to learn Greek.

School starts tomorrow. I really just don't believe it, I think. I mean...my junior year starts tomorrow? Bah, I guess we'll just see how it goes.

Well this entry was supposed to be only for the Top 10 Best Things of my Summer 2004. And so here it goes!!!

#10~ Meeting the Pilots @ the Balloons

Yes, the Balloons this year were abreviated and kinda were a bust. However, we met some sexy pilots that had southern accents. All I remember is the pilot saying my name...."Katie, darling..." Eeeee it was fun :) And I can't say enough about Melissa...I love that woman, and I hope everything works out for her and she finds herself.

#9~Working @Zucca's

Who would've thought that working would be so much fun this year? And I was working in the meat department. Ah, I love Dave and Jackie and Monty and everybody. Especially Kevin and Jordan. Kevin wrote me the sweetest letter I have ever received from anyone. And we plan on writing each other..snail mail that is. I'm excited. I definitely love to work in a place where I am accepted and we just have a good time...doing shit that is so mudane. Who would've thought?

#8~ The Pistons 2004 NBA Championship

Hells yeah baby! What an awesome series. And how awesome was it that they beat LA? The team that was constructed to beat everyone. I laugh in their faces...I laugh and laugh and laugh. I hope Larry can continue to keep that team together and do great things.

#7~The Olympics

As I sit here watching some of the greatest moments over the past two weeks...it makes me sad. Teary eyed, sad. I feel like the Olympics are an amazing thing in this world. They are unlike anything we've ever seen or experienced. They bring countries together in ways that no one could EVER dream of doing. People train their whole lives to compete in this every 4 years. It's amazing. There are no words to describe this phenomenon.

#6~The Tigers/Yankees game

A-Rod and Jeets...two of the coolest people in sports. I love watching baseball and I love watching the Yankees. Even though they lost, it was still fun to root for the team that no one wants to win. Especially the Yanks. They are my favorite sports team and no one will ever be them. September is upon us and playoffs are on their way!!! GO YANKS!

#5~The John Mayer concert

I already commented on this in my last entry and I think I did pretty well on it. John is a musical genius and I'm glad I got to experience that at least once in my life. We can't forget the awesomeness that is Maroon 5. They kick ass and they are definitely one of my favorite artists. I hope to see more of them and John as time goes on. Yay for concerts and just having a good time.

#4~Battle Creek Yankees Game w/Abby and Yosh

Ok, so that night I honestly sat in the back seat of Yoshi's car listening to Rascal Flats and crying because I had so much fun. I will never forget that night. We blared music soooo loud, Yosh was serenading us and just having fun. It makes me appreciate the people that are in my life and realize that the little things in life really are the best. And I honestly cried because it was so fun....I cried because I had never felt such emotion from just sitting in a car and singing to songs I didn't even know. And I loved it.

#3~ The Hanson concert

I want to marry Hanson. All of them. Right now. For the rest of my life. I can't wait to see them in concert again. They are awesome musicians and I wish that everyone could see that. They deserve so much more respect than what they get. I <3 Taylor...enough said....

#2~ Meeting Andrew Stephen Roddick in the flesh

Haha, I wish in the flesh if you get my drift. I'm glad that whole tournament turned out well. We just had a fun time and again, I can't wait to go next year. It should be a blast. And maybe next year we can meet Mardy. I love him to pieces and I really want to meet him. Go Andy and the fuzzy microphones!

#1~ The Anchor Bay Triathlon...spelled right this time!

One of the best times with the Gendernalik clan. I loved being the chase team. And our video reigns as the best re-creation of a sporting event. We should've been on SportsCenter's Top 10. "Somebody hit the fucking button!" Best quote of the entire event. I'm glad we got awesome shirts and we are the coolest celebrities of New Baltimore. Go funeral homes.

And that concludes the Top 10 Best Things of Summer 2004. And now school resumes and I hope this year kicks ass. Last year just wasn't what I wanted it to be. And so far, I have no complaints about this one. It should be interesting. Can't wait...good luck everybody!!
