I blatantly stole this from someone, because I'm too sick and too angry to come up with something on my own. (My entire head seems to have turned on me; I either have an ear infection or just a blockage, but it feels like my brain is stuffed with cotton and it's coming out my ears.)

So...Amazon seems to have succumbed to the delusion that LGBT people are shameful. Along with that delusion they also seem to believe that any book with a frank discussion of sex between people that fall outside some arbitrary definition of normal. How can I tell? Well the list of titles that have lost their ranking includes books that are specifically written to give relationship advice to rape victims, the disabled, and those who are generally curious about life outside the missionary position.

And before someone says that Amazon has a right to tailor their marketing to the widest possible audience let me just say that discrimination is not a good look for any business. As for the "adult content" argument? I'm sorry, how many kids are going to be searching Amazon in the first place, much less be traumatized by the sight of a YA book about being LGBT but a-okay with "adult" books about heterosexual relationships? Yeah, that's what I thought. Because if they're going to keep those rankings and drive sales to those authors? Then they have no excuse for excluding books that include content about "alternative" relationships. So, we're going to have to express our displeasure via the wonderful medium of Amazon Rank.

Okay, in other news, I got a shiny proto-drake (seriously go look at it and its tiny arms i love ittttt), and I'm pretty happy about that. Went to a lovely wedding on Friday (Congrats again to Megan and Jeremy), and wore a pretty dress. Easter was lovely.

I also had words with a friend about his .. precarious emotional state. Hopefully he'll take them to heart. We'll see.

Tell me something good.

world of warcraft, :(
