being single, childless and decidedly non-christian, i find myself in the usual christmas position: on call. and while i'm at it, i'm on new years eve too. it's not that i mind, but i don't want to do every holiday ( Read more... )

Not having kids or being religious, Christmas is mostly a bunch of pressure to buy presents for other people. I don't put up a tree or decorations, I don't own ornaments. I'm too lazy/disorganized to send out cards. Seems to bug other people more than me.

Hopefully your shifts will be quiet ones.

I've been so lazy/disorganized this year that I've bought exactly one gift. One. It's for my newly arrived to this country cousin, so I'm sure she'll not be disappointed to get it late. I usually do my Xmas shopping on the 26th or later. My brother does too and the one person that I do want to get something for is out of town 'til then anyways so it's all good.

Shift so far is okay, except for an urgent page at lunch. We got to play "emergency" and drove back to the hospital with the blinkers on, blowing through all the red lights...man that was fun! :D
