Welcome to 5am, I am sure you haven't been here in a while ... unless ... you have ...
Anyways, I am awake and I figured, what better way to spend the mornign than writing a jounral entry. Yay!
Now ... what to write about ... let's see ... Life is swell. I can spend some days doing very little other than playing video games, checking my e-mail and watching tv. It's a hard life ... but somebody's gotta live it.
I saw The Bourne Supremacy yesterday. It was decent. At least the storyline was good. The action was just okay and the camera-work was really shaky. But that's just my opinion.
I called NAU yesterday because only one of my degrees has arrived .... back in Munds Park, and they said that they just haven't sent the other one ... because they haven't had time. Now ... I can understand to a point of an individual forgets to mail something for a few days, a week, maybe even two. But two months for an office and they haven't ... had time? Ok .... no. But then again, I would consider that par for the course at NAU. See past journal entries about how NAU's bursars office screws you.
This week I look forward to doing some RA Training purchases. Buying office supplies and all kinds of good stuff. I am thinking the front desk needs some plants. I need to figure out what plants do okay with not a whole lot of natural sunlight since the desk is on the interior of the building.
Then I will get some letters out seeking donations for other random hall supplies ... movies, and whatnot. Our desk doesn't have a whole heckuva lot in the way of items for residents to use. Ther is vacuums, a couple old board games, and pool/ping pong/foosball equipment. That's about it. I am thinking (and of course we would have to find some sort of storage for this like a cabinet of some shelves as well) sports equip, movies, kitchen stuff, tools ... all would be beneficial. And, if I can hook up a movie checkout system like some of the halls at NAU used to have: donate a movie or $1 and get a card to check out movies, then we can have an ever growing supply of movies.
And I have been told that next year we will get the retro ... no, retro makes it sound kind of interesting ... really old-ass lobby chairs out and get some new ones. I swear some of the ones we have are flat out dangerous. So that'll be nice and something to look forard to.
My current hall improvement list includes getting something along the lines of sticker stencils for the room numbers above the doors ... since over 50% of the room number faceplates on the male side of the building are gone. Yep, just not there. But all of the female's numberplates are there.
Also, I'd like to see a cable outlet within the front desk. And a few holes in some of the bathroom ceilings and lobby walls repaired. And the front door changed so to make it like any other key-in door and not insert key, turn key to unlock, push random button. I am sure there are more things ... but I have to pace myself. I just started, I can't reinvent the hall overnight. It'll take some time and if nothing else I can lay some groundwork. I figure I iwll be here for a couple years ... may as well spruce up the place.
Anywho ... I have some forms I need to remake so that I can get them copied and inserted into binders and .... well, it's kinda monotonous stuff, but I don't mind. So, unitl later, ttfn!

Next week on E! The sole resident in a 125-room palace complete with pool table, bumper pool, foosball and ping pong, a 52" projection TV, Ethernet, 8 washers and dryers, and a luxurious 5th floor view overlooking Indianapolis ... you'll see why it's good to be ... Stefan Martin.
