Mission accomplished
Ok, there, the room is finished. Everything is where it needs to be :) yay!
And that means that things are going to get done! Paperwork, new forms, etc. Yeah, doesn't sound like fun, but hey, it's the job. And I will be ahead of the game ... for like the first time in a long time. And once I am on top of everything, I will have time to do things that I enjoy, like more poetry perhaps ... or ... other creative expressions ... maybe write that script I have always talked about. Ot perhaps start another one.
So, here's the sitch ... got the next three days off. Tomorrow I am meeting with one of my RAs to get a bit of a tour of the city. After that ... I don't know. Depending on the time, perhaps a run to Six Flags Louisville where John Cena will be taking on Matt Morgan in OVW wrestling. The Dr. of Thuganomics vs The Blueprint. I might make it down, who knows.
The weekend ... likely trying to finish cleaning the front desk. I think I am about finished shredding old logs and rosters from like 4 years ago ... but it was fun to see the history of Warren Hall desk shifts and rounds.
Along with that, the fun task of making new logs ... desk, duty, equipment checkout, yadda yadda yadda. That shouldn't take long ... and they will likely be drafts. Desk tasks should be interesting.
Yeah, ok, to put in a journal, this is all boring stuff to read about I am sure ... but hey, things are chill here, nothing too exciting. I am thrilled about the job ... but the real part of the job doesn't start for another three weeks ... so BACK OFF! :)
I have had a great past few days ... lots of rain here the last two days and the power went out last night. That was eerie. There's nothing quite like being the only person in a residence hall in total darkness ... at least you hope you are the only one ... da da da dummmmmm.

But look at your life ... and tell me when was the last time you had nine days to do ... whatever. I mean I could totally just sit on my butt all day and that would be cool. Instead I only lounge around for half of the day ... well, I sleep until noon ... and then work for a bit ... then lounge around or whatever until 2-4am ... ok, so I am living the Office Space dream. I can say that ... "I did nothing all day, and it was everything I hoped it would be."
But things are getting done too. And that's what matters. The place is finally starting to look like a residence hall ... except for all of the air conditioning boxes in the lobby, and the holes in the walls in everyone's rooms ... and the large chunks of concrete on the floor in other's rooms ... and the mattresses in the hallway ... ok, so it needs some work. But by the time the 13th rolls around ... this place will be a pretty sweet place to be. I'll make sure of that.
