Vacation plans
If anyone is in the following areas at the following times, I would love to see you!
1. Chicago, Sept. 10 through 15. I will likely be in the actual city on Friday the 12th with an open schedule, other than possibly mooching free lunch at Navy Pier. Depending on things happening in the city, maybe I'll be there a weekend day, too.
2. Philadelphia and New York, Sept. 15 through 23. These days are still being finalized. I might actually make two full trips in between them ($12 and two hours each way, so it's not pricey) so I don't overstay my welcome at my sister's place in New York, and because my friend in Philly has a wedding to attend that might take parts of two days. In other words, I'm flexible.
If things suddenly get goofy between the New York/Philadelphia things, I might take a short trip to D.C. I did that a few years ago and really want to get back to see more stuff. That's kind of iffy, though, because I think I have enough to keep me busy. Philadelphia is a new place for me, and I've still only seen a fraction of New York City, even after more than one visit.
Amazingly, airfare went up a month ago, and then went back down. I got flights to and from Sacramento (usually more expensive) across the country, with a stop in between, for what it often costs just to fly round-trip across the country from San Francisco or Oakland (usually cheaper).
