this is UNHEARD OF

1. And yet it's HAPPENING. GUYS. Witness this historic event: it's 9.40pm and I am GOING OFFLINE FOR THE NIGHT. *weeps* My brother is back and...

2. Yup. My retarded computer is STILL refusing to boot up, so I'm going to spend the rest of the night calling the 24-hour hotline, trying to figure out where I should bring it if I have to bring it somewhere. Oh, and testing my external HD on my dad's computer as well, just to make sure it's not my bro's that is strange. Done. It worked, and Julia belted awesome on my dad's iTunes of fail - seriously, it includes the Wicked OST, because there was a period of time when my sister and I couldn't stop talking about it, and precious little else. (Awww, that's kind of cute, isn't it.) So it's probably not the HD. Just that attaching the HD overloads my computer. Fuckity. (MAN MACS ARE SO COUNTER-INTUITIVE. PRETTY PRETTY, YES. BUT THE KEYS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE AND BLARGH.)

3. YOGA AGAIN TODAY, OMG. I think I twisted something the wrong way, which I am going to REGRET over the next few days. A muscle near the top of my right thigh went all twingey during class, and I KNEW I'd bent too far in one direction or the other. *sobs* It hurts to move! And will only hurt more the more my muscles stiffen into place! GAH. Anyway - this second class still totally KICKED MY ASS (my favourite part was at the end when the teacher said lie flat on your back, and she dimmed the lights and I almost fell asleep, I AM SO LAZY), but I really want to keep working at it until I get better at it. I WILL PERSEVERE. Even if it means being in complete and utter pain for the next week as well, grargh.

4. Saw a Singapore-produced documentary today called Mad About English (link includes trailer, which I haven't seen) - and it was really good, really funny, and is all about how the whole of China was swept up in a fever of learning English in preparation for the Beijing Olympics this year. It was hilarious and touching in equal measure - to see this 70+-year-old man so dedicated to learning English so he can become a volunteer guide, or a host of shopkeepers trying hard to banter in English, or a little girl taking part in wacky English BOOT CAMP (I'm serious, they were chanting and dancing and SHOUTING and being denied meals if they couldn't pronounce stuff correctly). I REALLY hope this show has the legs to travel a little further beyond our shores and gain a little international attention. It's well-made, for one thing, and just funny and interesting on the other. And so timely now that the Olympics has so fired the public consciousness.

5. OMG it's 9.47pm and I'm going OFFLINE. THIS FEELS WRONG IN AN EPIC WAY. Farewell, flist. *sobs*

yoga, wicked, my computer hates me, movies
