Meme: Desert Island Fanmix
1. HAI. So. I'm gonna start a new meme, because I was chatting with my partner in crime
weazel_luv about what would be our ideal Julia Murney fanmix - basically, the one album you bring with you to a desert island if you're only allowed ONE CD. Here is our thought process, when I clearly should have been working instead:
15:30 weazel_luv: i dont know what to listen to now
me: LOL
life is so hard.
15:31 i know!
your task is to make a Julia mix cd
80 mins of music
and I'll burn the same one.
weazel_luv: ok
15:32 me: this will be your definitive Julia CD. like, favourites.
15:34 weazel_luv: that's like asking me to pick a favorite child
me: LOL
you have to be ruthless
this is the Julia CD you'll take to a desert island.

So. Yeah - I thought it'd be a fun meme to do, especially if you expand it beyond *ahem* Julia, since I'm always open to new music and I'd love to hear what you guys are listening to or loving right now. (Although: Julia fans on the flist: you should totally make your own desert island fanmixes too. I'd love to see which songs of hers you'd pick as your favourites above all the others.)
RULES:
1. All the songs you pick MUST FIT onto one standard audio CD i.e., no more than 80 minutes of music.
2. Not really a rule, but it's fun: make a CD cover (front and back inserts) to accompany your fanmix!
3. No restrictions on artists or songs i.e., put together whatever you want, whoever you want, as many artists as you want.
4. BUT NO MORE THAN 80 MINUTES OF MUSIC, KTHX.
5. Upload the songs. Because I am lazy and don't want to go hunting down every single song you list. ;)

Basically - if you've ever wondered why the hell all I do these days is talk about Julia, this is probably the best place to start. :p Pretty much all of my favourite songs, ranging from her album (Misery & Happiness, I'm Not Waiting) to her live performances (Weekend In New England, Welcome The Rain) and covering parts of her theatre career (As Long As You're Mine from Wicked, How Did We Come To This from The Wild Party and errr... Watching The Wheels from Lennon, though she didn't sing it in the show!) all handily gathered in one download.
Some are different cuts of various performances Julia has done -
lfae, the Too Tired and She Goes versions I included here are different than the ones you gave me. I can send those to you separately if you want. :)
Of course, as agreed with
weazel_luv, this fanmix is subject to change. Well, as and when Julia ever deigns to sing Meadowlark, anyway. ;)
Hmmm. I'm sure I can do an Alice/Emily one next...
