OH MY FLAIL. SKIPLEY IN NYC IN JUNE.
THIS TRIP IS TURNING OUT TO BE THE MOST PERFECT THING EVER. BECAUSE GUESS WHAT I JUST REALISED?! I. CAN. SEE. SKIPLEY. LIVE.
So I received this via Google Alert a couple of hours ago, and obviously it's all, yay! Julia is the hardest-working person ever because she's doing another concert on her day off in May, right after previews start for Saved!. I got suitably flaily over this as this concert (itself part of a retrospective concert series of epic WIN) will reunite her with Brian D'arcy James (FLAIL). WELL AND GOOD. FLAILING ENSUED.
Then I read the rest of the article, and was deeply deeply pleased at the prospect of having Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley perform at the June 16 concert - but was all, like, oh yay, I'll have to get that album, and I just never thought that I might be able to go, because hi, it's in NYC.
OMG I AM SO SLOW AND RETAAAAAAARDED, RIGHT. I ONLY MADE THE CONNECTION JUST THIS MINUTE. I AM IN NYC ON JUNE 16. I AM GOING TO SEE THESE TWO WOMEN LIVE. *CRIES FROM THE AWESOME OF IT*
THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR THE FLAIL I FEEL RIGHT NOW.
All I need is new House, in five days' time, and I'm pretty sure my heart will give out from all the fangirling...

And I should SO be working instead of flailing. BAD BAD ME.
ETA: I HAVE TICKETS TO SEE SKIPLEY. OMG OMG OMG. Seats are SO not good, because the orchestra seating is all sold out already - I guess they must have opened up to members, and public sales have been on since March, so. Ended up with cheapest seats and just, like, two or three rows from the back of the balcony (FAIL), but only because going the next price range up would only have been a difference of three rows. As long as I'm IN the town hall listening to Skipley, I don't really care. ;)
