The Basics (Can't Really Change Them) Name: I don't tend to reveal my actual name online (old school privacy freak). I'm Siobhan63 here and "Jo" on Dreamwidth, which is my actual base - I crosspost to LJ. Age: Late 50s. Location: The centre of the universe (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - local joke...)
Currently, what are you... ... Reading? I have two books on the go, one non-fiction and one novel. The first is "Tune In: The Beatles: All These Years", the first in what is supposed to be a trilogy history of the Beatles, written by Mark Lewisohn. The other is "History of Another Timeline" by Annalee Newitz - best described as sci-fi feminist time travel, I guess? Both are out of genre for me - I usually read mostly police procedurals by British/Irish/Scottish authors. ... Watching? I am currently finishing up the 8th and final (I think) season of Spiral (Engrenages) - the French police procedural, as well as season 2 of Mythic Quest, season 2 of This Way Up, and the first season of Kevin Can Fuck Himself. And lots of Olympics and baseball. ... Listening to? I don't tend to listen to music much on my own, which is odd, because I really love music. My husband usually has something playing, mostly electronica (e.g. Chemical Brothers). I often have a "nature" music channel playing in the background during the day because my bird seems to like listening to it. ... Playing? I don't really play any computer games. Occasionally Civ V, but that's it. I'm at the computer all day for work, so tend to avoid the computer when I'm not working. ... Working on (job-wise and/or leisure-wise)? I have been working from home since March 2020. I am currently revising one of the chapters for a procedural manual that we're producing for the Legislature. ... Looking forward to? FRIDAY - we have tickets to the Blue Jays' home opener!! I know it's middle of the baseball season, but the Jays haven't played a game in Toronto since 2019 - it will be 670 days exactly when they take the field here on Friday. It's also the first actual thing we'll be doing since the before times. ... Worried/concerned/annoyed about? Nothing major at the moment.
What were your last three LJ entries about and when did you post them? One bullet-point post complaining about a couple of things, one general update post that covered a variety of things, and one quick post relating some issues my husband had trying to get to a recent dental appointment. I mostly just write about day to day stuff.
Anything else? As I mentioned, I post on Dreamwidth and crosspost to here, but I treat them as separate things. I don't import comments from here to DW, and I check both sites regularly throughout the day. I post regularly - not quite daily these days, but at least 2-3 times a week, if not more. Just day to day stuff, so it's pretty dull (just being honest) - I do not lead an exciting life. So stuff about my husband, work, occasionally my bird, some TV posts. I do yoga pretty much daily (Yoga with Adriene on YouTube), and kettlebell workouts. I am a huge fan of a lot of TV shows, but I am not into fannish stuff, e.g. fanfic and such. I will talk about TV shows, but I don't get into all that other stuff at all. I am not a huge commentor - especially at first, and I don't keep a journal for comments. I do like interaction, but what I'm saying is that I post for myself. If someone wants to comment, that's great, but that's not why I'm posting. Also - my journal is 99% friends only. If you want to add me, I will grant you access. If we don't click, no worries.
May I add? Mid-40s here, from Minnesota. I enjoy baseball (Cincy Reds fan - only vaguely follow Twins, really). I post about my daily life, and don't need commenters. But I do enjoy reading and commenting when I feel I have something to say (encourage, etc.).
