The Basics (Can't Really Change Them)
Name: Lily
Age: Late 30s
Location: Norway

Currently, what are you...
... Reading? Alberte og Friheten, second book in the Alberte trilogy by Cora Sandel, a trilogy I can recommend, but I don’t know how well they are translated. I am also reading a very interesting book about romantic friendships between people of the same gender, common in the 1800's.
... Watching? Just started Finding Alice yesterday and it is just the right amount of humour and sadness I needed at the moment. I plan on getting back into Schitt’s Creek and I have been thinking of watching more of Mr. Robot, which I stopped because it is quite too dark for my liking, but it is also excellent. The series I most recently finished was The Blacklist.
... Listening to? An audiobook, The time machine by HG Well (I like it a lot) and some different podcasts in Norwegian, mostly about history, sexuality, health and social issues, social and natural science.
... Playing? Board-games now and again.
... Working on (job-wise and/or leisure-wise)? Job-wise: applying for jobs. Leisure-wise: writing on a short story and other shorter pieces.
... Looking forward to? In the near future: Museums in Oslo, hopefully seeing some paintings by Munch locally, LOTR in concert (if it happens because of covid). There’s also a local literary festival I am interested it, but all guests have not been released and I want to see how the weather is supposed to be. It’s not in a place suitable for rain.
... Worried/concerned/annoyed about? Personal: not having a job, mum's health. The world: climate change, social differences, human rights being taken away after first being given.

What were your last three LJ entries about and when did you post them?

1. A post with three trailers for shows/films I am looking forward to, the reason why I posted was to share squee and hear other people comments on those trailers.

2. A post saying I am back home from a trip and asking for good thoughts for some family members who could need it.

3. A long post about the terrorists attacks in Oslo and at Utøya in Norway, in 2011 - on the 10 year mark, for the reason of marking the day and being a part of never forget, never stay silent.

Anything else?

I have three set monthly posts: 1: hobbies; mostly writing and photography, 2: what I have read that month, and 3: dwellpositivity, entries where I share positive, thoughtful and beautiful things, like photography, art and quotes.

Finding Alice! I have that on my bookshelf at the moment and haven't gotten around to it! I'm glad to hear good things about it.

I read the Time Machine a few years back and I must admit, I wish I'd done the audiobook, because reading it felt so dull. I also read The War of the World's when I was younger and found that much better.

We worry about similar things.

I didn't know Finding Alice is based on a book, but that makes sense! I love the mix of humour and sadness in it.
I just finished the Time Machine, and I am surprised by how much I enjoyed it! I have listened to some other older stories lately, which I did not enjoy, The sun also rises and To the lighthouse. The time machine kept me entertained, and made me think and ponder.

Ok, if I add you?

Hello, I am adding you back! I see you're a Finn, random fact: I am currently doing Finnish on Duolingo, just because really :D

Yay! I'm actually Finland-Swedish, so my mother tongue is Swedish. I used to do Norwegian on Duolingo, too, but I completely forgot about the whole app some time ago and am in need of some catching up. :D

Hei :D I am going through the Duolongo course slowly, taking my time and actually trying to remember things!

You sound interesting and I especially love the idea of the "dwellpositivity" posts.
I am a big fan of Podcasts as well and very into social/current issues and human rights.

Would you like to give it a try? My comment is at the very bottom of the meme (well, as of writing this ;)).

You glanced off a few topics that I really love, and think we might get along. I don't post terribly often, but I am friending you if that's okay!

Board games, lit festivals, art museums, the looking-for-work tension (I share that!), and a love of good comedy.
