This was everyone responding to what I believe was Danny Carey sitting on stage with his lighter while we waited for them to start '10,000 Days'.
I was happy to see there were no cell phones at this point, cause that shit is lame-o! Well, 'cept for mine taking the picture of all the beauty, whatever.
In 2 out of 3 live shows I've been to, they always do a breakdown during "Stinkfist" right where everyone would normally scream "I'll....keep...digging", they do this breakdown for like 1/2 a minute. Well this always fucks with the crowd who continues to sing the song anyway without noticing the band has done something quite different here. They got me the first time; me and Kyle with our fists in the air.."I'LL!!..........damnit, they're fuckin with us". Anyway, they did it this time and one of the dudes behind us goes "ohh mann! they must've forgot that part!" Yeah, I'm sure thats what happend. All 3 members simultaneously forgot about a crucial part of a song they've been performing for over 10 years. That sounds plausible. I don't mean to sound pretentious, cause I'm not but seriously, THAT was his explaination? Not that is was a live show and that kinda thing happens, or that they're Tool so they can do what they want..no, they forgot. Oopsies. I hope he felt like a dinghole when they kicked his face in once the breakdown was over.
I feel bad for not watching the guitarist or the bassist. I'm not even sure I know their names..maybe Adam and...? I only watch Maynard & Danny Carey. I'm also a little ashamed of being attracted to Maynard when he like wobbles and levitates during "Jambi". Cause I know his scrawny ass is not that good looking up close:
Nope, not so much.
Ah, how deceiving is a silhouette.
They were amazing. That is what church should feel like. They didn't play "The Pot" & some assholes high on some cheap weed and God knows what else couldn't seem to help but scream "LASERSSS!! AHH MY GOOOD!!" during '10,000 days' which was irritating. It's like someone screaming through your wedding. That's how beautiful I think that song is.
I love how Tool songs breathe and seem to be able to take you other places on their own. You don't even remember that people are playing instruments to make that sound happen. I wish I had that kind of affect on people for one reason on another.
Anyway, it was a good time. Danny Carey is the man & I'm glad we missed the opening act 'acuz they sucko.
