at last!!
Yesterday when I arrived at work, Kelly had great news: I'm getting a transfer to another store! And what's really funny is that, after waiting to transfer since I got here, now there are two stores that want me at the same time. She gave me the choice of SE or NW - and mostly because of transportation issues, I told her I'd go to the NW store. So I'm outta the Beaverton store as of October 30!! That seriously made my day (maybe even my week). It's going to be such a relief to not have to take the MAX to Beaverton every day, and also to not have to deal with that store.
Demo last night was entertaining as usual. We were alternating the chicken fried rice and the veggie eggrolls, and both went over pretty well. There was this one kid who was really annoying in an Augustus Gloop kind of way. See, we have a rule that we can't serve kids under 12 without an adult present (just for safety reasons). This kid comes up to the table and grabs a plate, and when I ask him if he has an adult with him because he needs permission, he just stares at me and then takes the plate anyways. A minute later his dad comes by and just kinda chuckles...like the whole thing is entirely silly and of course his kid can try a sample. The kid, who has already practically swallowed whole his sample, starts whining that he wants another (which I'm not about to let him have anyways). His dad tells him he can't have another, but he can finish his. Then mom comes by. The kid again starts whining that he wants another sample, and starts hovering threateningly near the table. Mom won't let him have another either, and he starts pestering her to finish hers. What makes this all worse is that this family comes in every week and the same situation ensues. Anyways, like I said...Saturday night demo = constant entertainment.
