(English) Schools may try to boycott Sats
- yes to removal of league tables
- no to teachers' assessments only

SATs are imperfect but I think there's still a need for a more standardized form of testing. I'm kinda torn between competing with yourself because starting abilities and paces of learning differ, and comparing with others because it is still good to know how you stand with others - you're not escaping from that in working life.

Shifting British Primary Education Towards Newer Trends
I like the idea of having a bigger perspective towards history, and integrating the web into it. But I hope it'll be more of how to do web research better and judge the reliability of sources. I don't really how see Twitter fits into this though, at least from my current opinion of tweets as being mostly banal. I've heard of Twitter being used for traffic updates or updates on minute news and that's all right. But I can't quite envision how Twitter would be used in an education setting. I'd prefer Tumblr or social bookmarking more at this moment. o_O I did feel painfully self-aware about the lack of much geographical and political geographical (grammar?) knowledge in the education I received, so not that keen on stripping them down.
