The best parts of tv/movie sf are space battles. Really.
Everything else is better in books. Obviously.
But no description can beat the visuals.
Those of BSG are really good (even if noisy).
This was really pretty. With all the colours of gases of the nebula. And bombs. And exploding starships. And dogfigths.
I love Riders. The way they move. One of the things I always find hardest to believe is that they are so much worse then humans.
Actually I think only Starbuck seems to have similar fluidity of movement.
The Four of meaningful glances.
They kept looking at each other in such an intense kind of way every time anything cylon was mentioned it started to be funny after a while.
Their constant worry they going to do something against humans they care about.
It got funny when during Adama's speech of 'anyone could be a cylon' half of persons present are.
Was Tight projecting his fears when he shot Adama? What would he tell Boomer now?
Sharon couldn't tell - but Anders still has magic red pulse lights built in. It's even in optical system - just like a rider. The posters with Six with red eyes suddenly make much more sense.
They've got to Ionian Nebula in 6 hours.
Kara as always is all about feeling and guts. It works for her great during the battle.
Too bad people want proofs when plotting course. Something more then 'we're going the wrong way'. Especially since they have her death on tape and her viper is super new. I wouldn't believe her either.
And she doesn't have patience for convincing.
She's gonna make them see it her way the hard way.
Oh, and with all the people complaining she is not treated cylon enough - Roslin wanted her in a brig. Adama has her just followed by two marines - she can thank Athena for that.
Connecting.
Sharon stoped to talk to Sam, to prepare him. Just one more sing how friendly they are. He always treated her good, even when he was fighting cylons, 8s. He knows the cylons can choose what to do and who to be loyal to. She's a nice reminder.
In a way it's strange for Kara to say she would kill him if she knew. After all she is buddy with Athena. At least we know why he won't tell her now (you know he would've), so the four can be a secret a little longer.
it's however funny how Lee - 'I hate cylons and won't speak to Athena like she's a person' - suddenly doesn't care when it's somebody he cares about.
Even Roslin got buddy with Caprica.
Kara doen't even think about it.
Still it was nice to see how happy and snarky she got with Anders the moment they saw each other. Their first exchange is banter. They are happy first then weirded out.
Then she confides in him. And he doesn't let the marine to shoot her even though he obviously thinks she's falling apart and acting insane, like a cylon maybe. So she hits him. He doesn't even try to stop her. Big men with lots of patience and ability to sacrifice for love - the BSG trademark (look Helo for reference).
BTW it was nice to see her connecting with Helo - he wants to believe her, she explains to him how it works. Always easiest with Helo.
The cult of creepy people.
They were so creepy even Baltar was creeped out. And he is really good at creepiness. Even the kid was creepy when he woke up. Must have been required to join in.
But Baltar once again showed to poses the ability for compassion. He actually cares. He's just to much of self-absorbed coward for it to matter much usually. Still sometimes he gets all sacrificial/suicidal. To be then miraculously saved. Again and again.
And once again it turned out to be one of H!Six's tests.
And a chick beat two guys with a pipe.
I liked the episode. Even the cult.
