More TV

Flash Forward is back and I actually liked the two new episodes so maybe it was a good thing they went for a longer break. I was almost ready to give up on it as the story was going nowhere and the characters were getting unlikable. Luckily this time we got less angst and more action. And an evil conspiracy that planned to destroy the world for long time.

I've been suspecting Simon was the man in the stadium for a long time. I thought he might've made up his flash forward but it was just a memory. He turned to be quite hands on a killer for a physicist. I also liked how they set up the driver character to be someone who'll be important in Simon's life and then he turned on to be just a minor dead villain. I liked how they killed the uncle too. He was being setup as a recurring villain, he even introduce himself so to Loyd, and then got disposed off. This way all we have is elusive D. Gibbons.

Finally, finally Mark's wall turned useful instead just bringing the future on their heads and making everything worse. I like that they stopped rationing info from his flash forward. That the connections between him, Loyd and Simon get more into the cause for blackout instead of personal. And I like that he saved Loyd despite knowing that letting him die would change his future.

So the experiment that Loyd did just amplified whatever the bad guys were doing. They knew they were causing blackouts on purpose but the used to be localised to the proximity of the towers until that high energy experiment. I wonder if they did their blackout thing during Loyd's experiment on purpose or did they just wanted make Chicago faint and then demand something for not doing it again and then it got amplified. The whole world went down and now they want to know how much energy you need to repeat that. And maybe before there was no seeing future. After all they wanted to know if Loyd detected tachyons.

I disliked the Nicole storyline but to me all religious leaders are creepy. And he is of the 'just turned into believer and feeling the need to share it with everyone to become popular extra-creepy category. I know that such events always bring such people out but it just makes me dislike them even more.

I also dislike how Simon suddenly is Canadian, has big family and a little sister who need saving because she runaway from home when their evil uncle killed their father in a hunting accident. Can you get more soap operish then this? I mean I like his family but the whole thing just screams of being made up during retooling. The accent retcon made me snicker - even the writers knew how lame they were being.

In the end Janice is still awesome and I want more Aaron and Tracy soon.
