AS got a new award
It seems that Andrzej Sapkowski’s Blood of Elves won the first ever David Gemmell Legend Award.
YES!!!
Since I love all the Witcher books this is very good news. The Blood of Elves is great, one of the best books I ever read and deserves any award it gets but the next ones are even better. Although I don't think I can choose the favourite book of the series. The Witcher Saga in my mind is a whole and is best as a whole. And the ending, the ending is a best thing. It made all my problems with fantasy go a way and that was the 90s when everything else was so stereotypical it hurt.
The voting for this award was by the internet and it might have just shown the numbers of Poles who hang out on SF/Fantasy sites and then went voting. It would mean there's many more of us then I expected. Or maybe all the other Sapkowki's fans voted for him too - he is big in Russia, Czech Republic, Spain and some other countries too. Or maybe the English really liked this book :P I wonder if it's popular in England.
