I put flea and tick drops on my dogs today. (The ticks are SO bad this year!) This time I caught Miss Vladimir first, before she figured out what I was doing. Last month I didn't catch her at all. And yes, Vladimir's a girl. Let's not go there . . . :-/
In spite of the ticks, the weather's been lovely. I expect it's because of the weather, plus the impending anniversary of my dad's death (it was like this the year he died), but I've been having the weirdest dreams lately! I keep waking up and thinking people and animals that have been dead and gone for years are still alive. A couple of days ago I woke up convinced that my mom was asleep in the next room and the day before that I woke up all worried because I hadn't seen my pony lately. Well, of course not! He died back in the '80s! I also keep dreaming about old tombs, like the mound burials in England? (Probably influenced by the barrow downs scene in Fellowship of the Ring.) This has become an odd season for me, since both my parents died in the spring. It's an odd juxtaposition of re-birth and death - a kind of sweet, melancholy time.
