Called the SIA office here in Sydney almost first thing in the morning. To my delight, i managed to get a seat on the 13 December flight, 5pm, which will get me home around 10pm Sg time. i don't need to wake up (or more like not sleep..) at some unearthly hour to reach the airport at 6am for the 845am flight.
