I have a miniature pumpkin in the oven, scraped of seeds and filled with butter, brown sugar, and spices. We got a big pumpkin, too, but it molded to the counter within a week of Halloween. I am attempting to make homemade dried cranberries. So far, I am deeply skeptical and my kitchen looks like a murder scene. Guppy keeps asking if I've hurt myself, because my hands have red stains. So, on Thursday, we decided to make pitepalt. This is a traditional Swedish dish that we fell in love with when we lived there: a dumpling-like ball with a core of salt pork that you cut in half and smother in butter and lingonberry sauce.
