All in all, 2009 was a good year for me. Seems like I was one of the very few since everyone else said it was a bad year for them. Still, I think it's time for an end of year meme. Which of course, I'll complete late so there goes my resolution to procrastinate no more!

So can you ask this person out this year or is it too late to do so?

I learned people aren’t as bad as I think they are, that they’re really just trying to live their lives, the same as me and I should really give them a chance because I’m missing out on a lot by refusing to let people in and always keeping them at a distance.

That seems like one of the most valuable lessons anyone could learn.

No, I'll still have plenty of opportunities to ask that person out but after a year of going back and forth it just seems like something I'm never going to actually do, you know? Everything that held me back before is still there.

And, yes, it was a valuable lesson, I'm much happier now that I can be closer to people I like. Maybe I should open up a bit more on LJ too and post more frequently this year. :-)
