The Last MTC Choir Tour

Jul 08, 2015 16:41

I've been blessed to have the privilege of going on eight tours with Art while he's been in the choir. He has actually been on 10 tours, but I missed two while I was sick. Our first tour together was to southern Europe. We thought it was going to be like that the whole time he was in the choir. Going all over the world. But it wasn't to be that way. 9/11 happened soon after that first tour, and it was never possible for the choir to travel out of the country after that. They will probably start doing that again on the next tour just because Art will have to retire by the, ha.

To be fair, it has been wonderful traveling with the choir even though we have stayed within the United States. This tour was wonderful. The choir went to Washington DC, New York City with several stops and ending in Boston.

One of the funnest surprises happened right at the start, when we boarded the plane to discover we'd been assigned first class. Yay! There were three jets chartered by the choir. The seats could actually recline all the way.

Art was so thrilled. Regular airline seats are agony for him.

That's Alex Boye behind us.
