I fucking hate the holidays.
I've been struggling financially for months. I've been trying to find a second job and FINALLY GameStop hired me and put me on. Just in time for the holidays. Now I'm working at a bar and a videogame store, just before Black Friday, Christmas and New Years. There's no way for me to have off New Year's Eve, I was just told. I was supposed to be gogo dancing and helping run our dance troupe at the show at my bar, but I'm needed behind the bar. I'm sure I'll be working Christmas Eve at Gamestop, if not, most definitely the day after Christmas. My bar scheduled me for a double the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (4pm-2am) and GameStop opens at midnight on Thanksgiving. I am required to work a shift Black Friday. I asked for midnight because my bar wants me in at 2 on Friday to work my usual shift, so I thought it would give me time for a nap in between jobs. But if I'm working til 2am, then again at midnight, there's no fucking point in even going home for Thanksgiving. I have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get there, and it'll probably take longer because of traffic.
Everyone who gets to enjoy the holidays with their family and friends, don't take it for granted. I get to enjoy maybe 12 hours on Christmas day and that's it.
I'm probably going to kill someone before January.
