Dogs, Food Security, and Oil Evil

This is the dog we might foster starting in a week. Her name is Goldie. She's an Aussie shepherd if you can't tell. She is supposedly very nice. Ozzie will probably be a jerkface to her for a day or two and then fall in love with her.

Yesterday Maggie and I did the garden in the backyard. She is sooooo knowledgeable.

We planted:

onions
strawberries
rhubarb chard
kale
snow peas
artichoke
oregano
mint (in a far corner of the yard where it can propagate itself to death)
mesclun lettuce mix

All of these were my Valentine's Day present from Dan. He got about 5 pounds of chocolate and a Ben Sherman button-down which looks rather cute on him, if I do say so myself.

Most of the plants came from Spiral Gardens' Food Security Project. That place is fuckin rad. You can find them on Sacto St. in S. Berkeley. Great stuff. We also got some blueberry bushes, but they have yet to be planted. There is so much more room for planting!

Food security project. So rad.

The new dog will have to learn that she can't plunge into the border garden. This may require some creative thinking/fencing. I will be on the task.

We went to see Syriana tonight at the Parkway and it was also super fucking rad and made me really angry and also like woo hoo! EBay guy produce more movies!
