specifically:
the little nubbin on the back of the tv, which dan broke off when trying to connect the dvd cable
specifically:
my computer cord, which seems not to want to connect perfectly to the back of my computer thus making it beep and squonk when it starts to loosen
specifically:
the volvo, which yesterday required over $600 worth of repairs so as to drive without exploding
specifically:
my emotional state, which took a fabulous nosedive after seeing Brokeback Mountain yesterday. It's not like I don't know the short story. It's not like I don't realize that once Larry McMurtry (biggest comboy nerd in Texas) gets on a project it's going to get all emotionally nerdified. It's not like I don't know that I was exhausted and emotionally pointy already from working on house shit all day while Dan disappeared. It's not like I don't know that I like nothing better than seeing Heath Ledger bugger someone. His sad elasticy face, his excellence in past films such as Knights Tale, his babymaking with the bodacious Michelle Williams. Le sigh. And it's not like I don't know that seeing shots of beautiful country will set me into an emotional tailspin from my desire to be ruralized, at least for some of the time. I really need to go up to Tahoe and see Leeza. I just need to do it.
This is what I did yesterday:
Pulled down rest of ugly fiberboard cabinets
Spackled and painted wall where UFCs were
set up Biostack composter
hauled shit tons of shit to the deliciously damp smelling basement
hung curtains
organized shit tons of bullshit
did lots of laundry
hung pictures
tidied
washed dishes
bashed holes in hands and arms with hammer and sharp bits of wood/metal
picked up dog poo
Good times.
I am getting a little annoyed at Dan because he hasn't had the time to do shit on the house yet. Not outside of his "study." And the ugly ass CD cabinets are invading the front entry making me horror-filled. They cannot stay. It is unacceptable. I realize that tomorrow day and the next Dan will be doing lots of work. But I worked for at least 6 hours straight yesterday, and then my day was capped with picking up the awful volvo from the OG (Orange Garage) and then my computer wouldn't work at Mama Buzz and then Elly tried to sell me the type of fold-up desk/bookshelf I've been longing for for 30 bucks which is cheap but she found it on the street for freebies. then we went to Drunk Fish for dinner because I didn't want Korean food and they forgot to make Dan's food so that was really obnoxious and then Brokeback which was good and sad and Jake G. really bugs me in it he is an actor I have been overexposed to and now find annoying.
Stupid moving.
Dan just called to say he took the TV in to be fixed. It will cost 85 dollars. But I would rather get it fixed than send it to a landfill. Stupid unfixable American culture.
Garbage.
