A few thoughts on this year's Eurovision competition...

Since I somewhat doubt that anyone really wants to go through the entire line up, I have only my nominees for best performance and worst.

Spain, known for its inherant weirdness gets top honors for worst video this year, showcasing as much effort as a seventh grade English project!
Oh, Spain. Where did you go wrong?

Most awesome far and away goes to Latvia, which apparently has something of a problem with... techno pirates.
I wish I could say this is a prank.

Not much else to report, really. The wine sale wrapped up on Saturday, and not a moment too early. I've been waging a prolonged campaign against a co-worker who apparently feels that she no longer needs to do her job or show subordinates respect; we'll set her straight or... turn to more unorthodox tactics if it comes to that.

My birthday was at least quiet - my parents and Nick took me out to a pleasant dinner at Pierre's where I was able to steal away with my true love, duck confit, for an evening. I, rather surprisingly, received an exceedingly generous gift of a Wii for the occasion from Nick and have made good use of it so far. Incidentally, I would not recommend playing me in tennis, bowling, or boxing. The following night, I had my own party which had a solid turnout, a rockin' good time, and made me stay up entirely too late.

Last, but far from least, I have my trip to France booked! My mom and I leave May 11th and return May 20th - at least a couple days in Paris and we're torn between going east to Alsace-Lorraine (a k a the motherland) or going down towards the Loire Valley, where I would probably never return from if left to my own devices. I'm willing to bring back a varety of goods for anyone, within the bounds of U.S. Customs.
